Tyler Linderbaum, fresh off of being drafted No. 25 by the Baltimore Ravens in this year’s 2022 NFL draft, has added another extremely impressive accolade to his collection.
This time Linderbaum received the Big Ten Medal of Honor, which is believed to be the most prestigious and exclusive award given out by the conference. What makes this award special is that it not only recognizes fantastic on-field performance by NCAA student-athletes, but it also rewards academic excellence shown.
Each university within the Big Ten award the Medal of Honor to one male and female in the graduating class that meet these standards. Manuela Lizarazu of the Iowa Hawkeyes Women’s Golf team joins Linderbaum as the other recipient.
Our very own @TLinderbaum has been named @TheIowaHawkeyes' male recipient of the @bigten Medal of Honor ‼️#Hawkeyes

Linderbaum adds this award and accolade to an already extensive list that is only likely to continue to build upon itself in the NFL. He has also been awarded the Rimington Trophy as the best center in the country, the Rimington Pace Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year, a two-time All-Big Ten selection, a unanimous All-American selection, and twice an Academic All-American.
This award speaks to Linderbaum’s dedication to perform on the field but his intelligence and work ethic shown in the classroom, something that translates well to the NFL with film and game-planning. As his NFL career kicks off in a few short months, these awards could only be the foundation for what Tyler Linderbaum can continue to do.
