When North Carolina was hit by a rash of departures to the transfer portal, head coach Hubert Davis and his staff had to replenish the roster through it as well. And the prized pickup was Stanford wing, Harrison Ingram.
After being recruited by UNC in high school, Ingram eventually committed to Stanford and won the PAC-12 Freshman of the Year award. He spent two seasons with Stanford and is now at North Carolina where he is shining.
And after Wednesday’s win over Tennessee, Ingram drew praise from North Carolina legend Tyler Hansbrough. While on the Field of 68 podcast, Hansbrough had a lot of praise for Ingram:
“He’s probably been the brightest spot and the most consistent player on the UNC basketball team this far,” Hansbrough said via Keeping It Heel. “You can say that he’s won us some games thus far, without his consistent play, I think we have more than one loss if he wasn’t playing so well.”
The pickup of Ingram through the portal has been a big one for the Tar Heels both on offense and defense. He’s been fantastic so far and feels like the perfect addition for this team.
