One of the great stories every year in the NFL is watching undrafted free agents scratch and claw their way to what they hope is a spot on the 53-man roster. For the New York Jets, they saw not one, but two undrafted rookies crack the 53 at the wide receiver position. The Jets kept seven wide receivers and Jason Brownlee of Southern Miss and Xavier Gipson of Stephen F. Austin were among the group.
On Tuesday’s episode of Hard Knocks, we’ll get a chance to see one in particular, Gipson, sit down with head coach Robert Saleh and see his reaction when Saleh breaks the news to him that he did in fact make the cut. You can see this clip and the rest of the show Tuesday at 10pm ET on HBO and stream on Max.
The best part of #HardKnocks? Seeing guys like @nyjets rookie WR Xavier Gipson find out they made the team. 🥹 @Gipson22X
