Young Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey continues to turn heads in the NBA. The third-year guard out of Kentucky just gets it and he has an understanding of how to succeed at this level as he continues to take strides and improve as a player every day.
In Saturday’s win over the Sacramento Kings, Maxey scored 32 points and six assists to lead Philadelphia from 21 points down. He scored 15 points in the third quarter, scoring 11 straight at one point, and he lifted the Sixers to a perfect 5-0 road trip without Joel Embiid and James Harden.
Afterward, NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett took to Twitter to praise Maxey for an impressive performance.
Starter, off the Bench… whatever. Tyrese Maxey is special. 🦾

Maxey has been dealing with different roles as of late as he has been moved to the bench in order to help the Sixers succeed, but he had to start on Saturday and he didn’t blink. He was terrific and the Sixers are benefiting from having him lead their team.
