Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins marveled at the size of Tacko Fall

The Hall of Famer declared Aaron Gordon the winner of the Slam Dunk Contest after leaping over the 7-foot-5 Tacko Fall.

Although Tacko Fall is listed at 7-foot-5 without shoes on, the Boston Celtics rookie often overwhelms his peers with his size and strength near the basket on the court.

Fall became the center of attention Saturday night during the Slam Dunk Contest when Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon needed his services. He called upon Fall when Shaquille O’Neal backed out at the last minute.

Gordon leaped over Fall for his final dunk of the evening but came up only short on the scorecards when he was given a total score of 47, just shy of the 48 needed to beat champion Derrick Jones Jr.

As the NBA community was left in shock that Gordon pulled off the feat, Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins was among those also impressed. Wilkins marveled at the size of Fall Tuesday morning on The Dan Patrick Show.

[Gordon] definitely won. … [Fall] is 7-foot-5, are you kidding me? I stood next to Tacko the other night and I’m like, ‘Holy crap!’ This kid is long. The fact that [Gordon] went over this guy, that’s almost impossible.

Many believe Gordon was robbed once again of a Slam Dunk Contest title after infamously losing to Zach LaVine in 2016. Gordon criticized the judges afterward but the six-year veteran might have to settle for being the People’s Champion.
