Halftime: Tennessee leads South Carolina at Neyland Stadium

Tennessee’s offense was a model of efficiency in the first half of the Volunteers’ Southeastern Conference home opener.

The Vols scored on six of their first seven possessions and have a 38-7  lead over South Carolina at Neyland Stadium.

Quarterback Henden Hooker has thrown for three touchdowns and ran for another against the Gamecocks.

Velus Jones Jr., JaVonta Payton and Jalin Hyatt all have touchdown receptions for the Vols.

Running back Tiyon Evans also recorded a 45-yard touchdown scamper for the Big Orange.

Tennessee’s defense has been extremely stingy and the Vols have come up with a pair of turnovers as Jaylen McCollough had an interception at the goal line and Aaron Beasley recovered a South Carolina fumble in a first half dominated by the Vols.

Kevin Harris scored on an 8-yard run for South Carolina with 2 minutes, 4 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

Tennessee’s Chase McGrath kicked a 26-yard field goal on the final play of the second frame.

UT will get the ball to start the second half.
