No. 13 Georgia hasn’t gotten off to a good start vs. a struggling Mississippi State team.
The game is tied 17-17 at halftime
Mississippi State’s offense led by freshman Will Rodgers was able to chew the clock and keep new Georgia quarterback JT Daniels and company off of the field for most of the half.
The Bulldogs have 193 yards of offense and have held the ball only 11 minutes, while MSU has 229 total yards, have had the ball for 19 minutes and have connected on a couple of big plays, including a long touchdown pass late in the second quarter.
Here’s what UGA Twitter is saying after a lackluster opening half.
Idk about you but I'm totally here for JT

JT Daniels is a real person. Just confirmed saw him on TV.

#UGA OL really struggling run blocking from this pistol formation.

End of 1Q and Georgia was outgained 79-50 and had ball only 5 mins. Just had second lost-yardage run play as MSU run-blitzing every down. 3-11 for Dogs at M40 to start 2Q.

True or false #UGA folks? https://t.co/yowc1t327A

Maybe UGA should put the red jerseys back on at halftime.

This Georgia defense is causing ZERO havoc tonight. State making it look easy on offense.

Nine different players have caught a pass for Miss. St. Or if you’re a percentage guy, that’s 20% of the roster. Wow.

Quick props to freshman receiver Jermaine Burton, who has had a monster half.
Jermaine Burton for six!
The freshman has 149 yards on seven catches today.
It's 17-17 with less than a minute to play in the half.

I love what I’ve seen from JT Daniels so far, but Georgia coach Kirby Smart will have to change things defensively to get pressure on MSU’s Will Rodgers, or this game will go into the fourth quarter.
We cannot keep backing off and letting Mike Leach tear up a soft zone all night.
