Guard Jasper Johnson is visiting with Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball

Shooting guard Jasper Johnson is visiting Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball on Tuesday.

It has been a busy few days for Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope, who has made a flurry of scholarship offers to players in the 2025 recruiting class. One member of the class, Jasper Johnson, is going one step further, and taking a visit with Kentucky on Tuesday.

Johnson has been a target of Kentucky for some time now, dating back to when John Calipari was the coach. He even visited Lexington back in February. Pope, however, wasn’t there yet at that time.

A five-star recruit according to most services, Johnson is ranked as the tenth best player in the 2025 class by 247sports. He’s their number two ranked shooting guard, and has offers from most of the top programs.

Johnson is from Kentucky, and is a huge target for Pope and his staff. He is not only a top ten prospect, but he’s also a Kentucky product, and getting him in Lexington would be a very big win for the Wildcats.
