Aidan Mahaney is looking for a new home this off-season. He has plenty of options, but it does appear as though Kentucky basketball will be one of them.
Last season, Mahaney played guard for the Saint Mary’s Gaels, averaging nearly 14 points per game. He also shot over 35% from three point range, something new Wildcats coach Mark Pope covets.
Mahaney has already had some visits with teams looking to bring him in. He recently visited Creighton, and is planning to visit Connecticut and Virginia. Now, it appears that he’ll take a visit to Pope and Kentucky as well.
Analyst Jeff Goodman posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Mahaney would be visiting the Wildcats this weekend.
Mark Pope continues to work on building a roster, after losing every player from last year’s squad. He’s having to start from scratch, and adding a player of Mahaney’s quality would be a really nice get. Fans will have to wait and see how it goes, but getting a visit from him is a good start.
