GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is launching soon, and Rockstar just showed off the remasters in a new trailer, a side-by-side comparison video, and all-new screenshots. Each game has been enhanced to look sharper and more detailed, while still retaining the classic, cartoon aesthetics of the original releases.
There are higher resolution textures on weapons, vehicles, characters, and environments. There’s a whole new lighting system with enhanced shadows and reflections. There are improved water and weather effects, better foliage and trees, and increased draw distances. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are capable of 4K resolution at 60fps, and PC gets DLSS support. On Switch, players can expect touch-screen camera zooming and gyro aiming controls.
Here’s the trailer:
As well as those visual enhancements, the remasters feature a bunch of gameplay tweaks. Here’s what to expect:
- GTA 5-style controls
- Improved gunplay and targeting
- Updated weapon selection and radio menus
- Updated maps with the ability to place waypoints
- The ability to immediately restart a failed mission
GTA: The Trilogy – The Definition Edition is launching on November 11 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S. Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-orders are open now.
If you don’t want to buy the entire thing, GTA San Andreas Definitive Edition is coming day one to Game Pass and GTA 3 Definitive Edition is coming to PS Now on December 7. You can check out more GTA remaster screens on Rockstar’s official site.
