Growing indications that DeMar DeRozan won’t be on Chicago Bulls in 2025

It is more likely that DeMar DeRozan is heading out of Chicago, though nothing is official yet.

Every professional sports team has a wider group of analysts, bloggers, podcasters, fans, people who generally make it their business to follow the daily maneuverings of that franchise. People who follow and study the Chicago Bulls will tell you that after Saturday night, all signs point to DeMar DeRozan being on his way out of Chicago for the 2024-2025 NBA season. This is something we wrote about earlier in June.

Saturday night, the Bulls reportedly inked Patrick Williams to a five-year, $90 million deal. This is a youth-movement signing which points to the team going into a full rebuild, something which was hinted at in the trade of Alex Caruso for the younger Josh Giddey. DeRozan is likely to be shipped elsewhere as the Bulls blow it all up and start over.

Hopefully, DeRozan will find an NBA championship contender where he can be an essential piece and perhaps a tipping-point presence who gets a good chance to make the NBA Finals and cap his career in style.
