Grizzlies’ Ja Morant reacts to Desmond Bane scoring a career-high

Bane returned from the All-Star break on Wednesday with his finest performance of the season in a win over the Wizards.

On Wednesday, Desmond Bane produced a career-high 20 points to help the Memphis Grizzlies earn a 127-112 victory over the Washington Wizards to kick off the second half of the season.

Bane, whose previous career high was 18 points, finished shooting 7-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range, in his seventh start of the season. His five 3-pointers marked a career high while he also hauled in four rebounds in 31 minutes of action.

The 30th overall pick turned in yet another strong performance on Wednesday. He was once again efficient on offense: Bane ranks fifth in 3-point percentage among all players at 45.6. His play even earned praise from teammate Ja Morant.

Bane kicked off the second half of the season with his finest performance of the year, and it could be a preview of what could come over the next few months. Prior to the All-Star break, Bane had struggled a bit but it appears as though he is trending upward at the right time.
