Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant said he doesn’t typically watch his own highlights during any given season but that policy has changed with the NBA on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Morant, like most players around the league, has resorted to watching his own highlights on YouTube to pass the time. The guard has plenty of highlights to view as he made quite an impact on the court this season.
The second overall pick jumped on SportsCenter on Friday morning to discuss how he is spending his time in isolation during his time away from basketball.
“I done probably watched my highlights 100 times already,” Morant said. “I can probably tell you a play by play. I normally don’t watch my highlights, I just study film to try to find mistakes and look at things I can get better at but during this, I really have no choice.”

Morant has had quite a few highlight-reel plays this season. From his poster dunk over Aron Baynes to going toe-to-toe with Kyrie Irving in just his third NBA game, Morant has had no shortage of spectacular highlights.
As for his favorite play of the season?
“My top play will probably the game-winning layup against Charlotte,” Morant said. “I feel like I had a lot of exciting plays this year but to have one to win the basketball game is definitely the top play for me.”
