Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant said Tuesday that he has packed on about 12 pounds of muscle over the recent suspension from the regular season.
The second overall pick has stayed busy in the weight room and was even seen working out recently with NBA Draft prospect R.J. Hampton. Morant entered the season listed at 175 pounds, the third-lightest among all players, and is likely now closer to 190 pounds.
The smaller players in the league often talk about how important it is to pack on additional muscle in order to handle the physicality of the NBA and Morant clearly went to work on bulking up over the season suspension.

Of course, Morant and the Grizzlies are among the 22 teams set to restart the season next month at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, so it won’t be too much longer until the Rookie of the Year frontrunner shows off his new look.
