Grey sweeps Orange in Fall World Series

KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee baseball team recently contested its Fall World Series.

The intrasquad series concluded Monday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium with the Grey Team sweeping the Orange Team.

The final score in the season finale was 7-2.

Max Ferguson and Jordan Beck both went 2-for-4 Monday for the Grey.

Ferguson had a double and a triple. He also stole a base, scored a pair of runs and drove in two more.

Beck chipped in with a solo home run and a stolen base.

The Grey’s top pitcher was Hollis Fanning. He threw five innings and surrendered a run and two hits, while striking out four.

For the Orange Team, Evan Russell went 1-for-3 with a home run and a RBI. He also had a run and one stolen base.

Jorel Ortega went 1-for-4 with a double and scored a run.

The Orange’s top pitcher was Chad Dallas. He went 5.2 innings, giving up one run and three hits while striking out eight.

The Grey Team took Game 1, 10-1, on Saturday and they also won on Sunday.
