On Tuesday night, the San Antonio Spurs lost their sixth straight game, falling 123-87 on national television. Leading up to the event, the game was billed as a matchup between rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama and fellow Rookie of the Year candidate Chet Holmgren. Neither player performed particularly well, but Holmgren walked away victorious.
The Spurs shot just 38.7% from the field and 30.0% from behind the three-point line against the Thunder. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City shot an impressive 51.7% from the floor and 38.5% from distance, thumping the Spurs in the process. They were led by a 28-point showing from All-NBA First Team guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
After the game, head coach Gregg Popovich ripped into the Spurs. (H/t Jonah Kubicek of Inside the Spurs)
