San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has never been on to shy away from voicing his displeasure with Donald Trump and the job he has done as president.
On Thursday night Popovich shared his feelings again and he didn’t hold back. Popovich, is his lengthy and thoughtful rant, also took down senators Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz just a day after pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol.
Popovich said of Trump: “He’s incapable of caring. And it’s sad because he’s a deranged, really flawed individual, but he’s also dangerous. That’s why I don’t think it’s so farfetched for people to start talking about the 25th Amedment.”
Of Hawley and Cruz, he said: “Hawley’s a joke. This entitled, elite, educated person is really smart, just like Ted Cruz is smart, but they throw fuel onto Trump’s fire. They are worse than Trump because they are not sick. They are not deeply flawed. Mr. Trump is not a well man. These people are sane. But their self-interest, their greed, their lust for power outweighs their love of country or their love of sense of duty to the constitution or to public service.”
