Gregg Popovich discusses Victor Wembanyama’s progression after Spurs’ loss to Nuggets: ‘He doesn’t worry about making a mistake’

After the San Antonio Spurs’ loss to the Denver Nuggets, Gregg Popovich spoke about Victor Wembanyama’s progression so far this season.

The San Antonio Spurs had their losing streak extended to 12 games on Sunday night, falling to the reigning champion Denver Nuggets by a score of 132-120. Winning a championship was never a goal this season, and while the Spurs would certainly like to snap their current dry spell, the development of their young core has been and will continue to be their top priority.

And at the head of that snake lies Victor Wembanyama. Against the Nuggets, the 19-year-old Frenchman put up 22 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, six steals, and four blocks while shooting 7-of-17 from the field and 2-of-5 from deep. That said, he also recorded four turnovers and committed four fouls in his 24:56 of action.
