Green Bay is a popular pick amongst bettors to advance to NFC Championship

Looking at how bettors are wagering on Packers-49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers were the only underdog to taste victory during Super Wild Card Weekend. They went into AT&T Stadium and controlled most of the game before hanging on late thanks to some horrendous clock management from the Dallas Cowboys, which helped stamp the Niners’ ticket to a Divisional Round matchup at Lambeau Field.

Saturday’s clash between San Francisco and Green Bay won’t be the first. The two squads met in Week 3 of this regular season and Aaron Rodgers drove the Pack offense 43 yards in just over 30 seconds of play to set up a Mason Crosby 51-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.

Bettors appear to be forecasting a similar outcome.

At Tipico Sportsbook, 70 percent of bet slips contain Green Bay covering the spread (-5.5), while 77 percent have the Packers at the moneyline. That’s a large percentage of gamblers who feel that Green Bay will advance, despite the Aaron Rodgers-led Packers not having won a playoff game against the 49ers during his tenure (0-3).

Fifty-four percent of ticket holders anticipate this game to go over 47.5 points, which is surprising given that when the two teams played earlier in the season they combined for 58 points. Of course, that was in San Francisco and this game will be in Green Bay where temperatures at Lambeau Field are expected to be in the teens throughout the game.

Packers – 49ers is set for an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff on FOX.
