ORLANDO — The NBA is back and the Boston Celtics began the reboot on a losing note Friday night.
The Celtics, who are chasing a high seed in the upcoming playoffs, got things restarted with a 119-112 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks at HP Field House.
The Bucks are currently perched atop the league’s Eastern Conference standings with a 54-12 record.
Former University of Tennessee basketball player Grant Williams played sparingly. He logged just four minutes and did not make it onto the stat sheet for Boston (45-23).
Williams, a power forward, left Rocky Top after his junior season in 2019. When he left Knoxville, he was the two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.
He was later a first-round pick in the 2019 NBA draft. The Celtics selected Williams with the 23rd overall pick.
