Grant Williams grabs two rebounds in NBA playoff debut.

ORLANDO — Former University of Tennessee basketball player Grant Williams has been used sparingly since the NBA restarted its season this summer in the Central Florida bubble.

The regular season is now complete and the NBA has begun its journey to declare the 2020 world champions.

Boston took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series Monday night as it edged Philadelphia, 109-100, in the postseason opener for both teams, but Williams did not see much time on the floor.

The No. 22 pick in the 2019 NBA draft played just two minutes and had two rebounds in his team’s victory.

Williams, who left Rocky Top after his junior season as the two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, has experienced an up-and-down rookie campaign as a role player in Boston.
