BOSTON — It’s taken him a bit of time to adjust to professional basketball, but former University of Tennessee standout and two-time defending Southeastern Conference Player of the Year Grant Williams is finally finding his shooting touch for the Boston Celtics.
Williams, a power forward and the 22nd pick in last spring’s National Basketball Association Draft, scored 12 points in Boston’s, 119-83, victory over the Charlotte Hornets Sunday.
Williams, who played 22 minutes for the Celtics (20-7) against the Hornets, also had four rebounds, two assists, a block and an assist.
Prior to that contest, Williams scored a career-high 18 points in Boston’s, 114-93, win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday, Dec. 20.
The former Vol played 30 minutes in that contest and was 8-for-10 from the floor.
