Grant Wiliams scores four points as Boston loses to Nets.

Former University of Tennessee basketball player Grant Williams scored four points for the Boston Celtics Friday in their 123-95 loss to the Brooklyn Nets at TD Garden.

The Celtics (1-1) led 54-51 at halftime only to see the Nets (2-0) put up 72 points over the game’s final 24 minutes and run past them.

Williams, who played 19 minutes in the Christmas Day contest, also pulled down six rebounds and dished out four assists, for the Celtics, who led 26-22 after the first quarter.

Williams was a first-round pick by the Celtics in the 2019 NBA draft, going with the 22nd overall selection.

He left Tennessee after his junior season as the two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.
