Miami Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose appeared to suffer a serious head and/or neck injury Sunday a brutal helmet-to-helmet collision with Houston Texans safety Calen Bullock.
DuBose, 23, was motionless on the ground and medical professionals eventually cut his jersey off and unscrewed his facemask. The receiver was placed on a board and carted off the field with what appeared to be an IV and/or an EKG machine.
Grant DuBose injury update
About a half hour after the injury occurred, the Dolphins said the receiver suffered a head injury and is in stable condition. He was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
After the game, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said DuBose will stay at the hospital overnight and there has been “positive feedback” regarding the receiver.
Dolphins WR depth chart
DuBose was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins at the end of August and appeared in a couple games early in the season before a shoulder injury sent him to injured reserve. Following the decision to part with Odell Beckham Jr., DuBose was activated and caught one pass Sunday before the injury.
The Dolphins also have Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Malik Washington, and River Cracraft at wide receiver. Waddle suffered a knee injury earlier Sunday.
