‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ is coming to VR for the Oculus Quest 2

Here we go again…

Here we go again: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas  is getting the VR treatment for Occulus Quest.

During a Facebook Connect event on Thursday, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the classic open-world shoot’em up from Rockstar Games is getting the VR treatment for the Oculus Quest 2. It’s unclear if this project has anything to do with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, though.

“Get a new perspective on Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas as you experience (again or for the first time) one of gaming’s most iconic open worlds,” said a post on the Oculus Blog. “This is a project many years in the making, and we can’t wait to show you more of it.”

There’s no video footage or screenshots of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in VR just yet, so you’ll just have to imagine everyone’s favorite CJ meme in first-person.

While VR isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, Resident Evil 4 VR proves Oculus knows how to retrofit a classic game for this new(ish) medium. Maybe Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the title  Dr. Dre is recording music for, even. Who knows!
