Grading the performances of each quarterback in LSU’s loss to Texas A&M

How do Kellen Mond, TJ Finley and Max Johnson grade out after Saturday’s performance?

Kellen Mond, Texas A&M

How much of it was the rain, and how much of it was a sign that Kellen Mond is what so many thought he was? We’ll get a bit of clarity on this issue, as to whether or not we should write this one off and blame it on the weather or if Kellen Mond is, well, still Kellen Mond.

There was plenty of talk about the strides Mond had made this season before he turned in a performance in which he completed 11-of-34 passes for 105 yards without a touchdown or an interception.

He also had seven rushing attempts for 27 yards in the win.

There’s certainly something to be said about Mond’s growth in accuracy and decision-making in general this year, though, and those overall improvements couldn’t be made much more evident than by the comparison between his touchdown-to-interception ratio between last year and this year.

Seven games into the season, Mond has thrown 16 touchdowns and two interceptions. In as many games last year, Mond had thrown nine touchdowns and five interceptions.
