Grading the performances of each quarterback in LSU’s loss to Texas A&M

How do Kellen Mond, TJ Finley and Max Johnson grade out after Saturday’s performance?

Max Johnson, LSU

Orgeron told reporters following the loss that the only reason the Tigers pulled Finley out of the game was to try some quarterback runs, which obviously didn’t work.

Looking at a stat line that includes eight rushing attempts for -4 yards is a dismal illustration of that.

Johnson came in for the remainder of the contest in the third quarter, completing 14-of-22 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. He helped the Tigers to avoid a shutout, throwing a touchdown pass wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. in garbage time.

It’s hard to tell exactly what Johnson will be, considering this is the most we’ve seen of him all year, and he has proven he can accomplish some on the ground in the small appearances we’ve seen him make before this.

But how much does he bring to the table for LSU in the long-term? Time will tell, and it’s obviously going to take more of it until we have a firm idea.
