Tyler Johnson had an insane 2019 season with the University of Minnesota, catching 86 passes for 1,318 yards and 13 touchdowns.
As he prepares for the 2020 NFL Draft, he’s been working with Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen.
“I was able to work out with him when I got back to Minnesota for the past few days. He just told me to be me,” Johnson said via the Star Tribune. “That was important to me, important to him and he felt it was best for me.”
It helps that Johnson and Thielen both have the same agent in Blake Baratz.
Johnson is expected to go in the first three rounds of the draft. It will be interesting to see how much the Vikings give him a look. After Thielen and Stefon Diggs, the Vikings could certainly use some depth at the position.
Using their 25th pick seems too high, but the Vikings have the 58th overall pick and the 89th overall pick as well.
