Based on practice, the NASCAR Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway looked like it could have been a disaster; however, Goodyear’s tires held up during the event on Sunday night. Now, the Cup Series looks forward to the USA TODAY 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and Goodyear is bringing a new tire setup for the event.
Goodyear is introducing a new tire setup for the USA TODAY 301, featuring increased tread thickness designed to keep more heat in the tires and lead to more fall-off throughout a run. This is massive for NASCAR as Goodyear hopes that lap times fall off due to how well a driver can manage their tires at New Hampshire. This should produce more comers and goers throughout the day.
With rain in the forecast in New Hampshire, Goodyear is also bringing Wet Weather Tires. The tires aren’t designed to run in the rain, but they allow NASCAR to restart the race sooner rather than later, even if the track is damp. The USA TODAY 301 is approaching, and Goodyear feels confident about this weekend’s tire setup.
