Good, Bad and Ugly: The best and worst from Gators’ loss to the Bulldogs

Take a look at how the Gators Wire gang breaks down Saturday’s tough loss against a fierce rival.

Florida football fell to the .500 mark for the 2022 season after its 42-20 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. The margin of victory for the ‘Dawgs was just about what the oddsmakers had predicted as last year’s national champions continue to roll along, while the Gators’ struggles in their first year under new head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] have shown few signs of improvement.

The annual rivalry, which has been held on neutral grounds since 1933 save for a two-year stretch in the mid-1990s, had all of the passion and excitement that historically surrounds one of the nation’s finest grudge matches. However, Florida came out flat while Georgia throttled their opponent in the opening half; a strong effort coming out of the halftime locker room by the Gators made the game interesting but was not enough to prevail.

The Gators Wire gang quickly convened after the end of the game to give its collective takes on what they saw on the field in Jacksonville. Take a look below at how each interpreted the outcome of the troubling loss along with an outlook on what the loss means moving forward into the final third of the season.
