With a thrilling win over TCU on Sunday night, backed by Drew Timme’s awesome second half, the Gonzaga Bulldogs find themselves in the Sweet 16 once again.
Gonzaga advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 13th time, all coming after the 1998 season. But for the ‘Zags, it’s the eighth-straight year they have reached the Sweet 16 dating back to 2015 and they are closing in on some rare company.
Per Bryan Ives, the Bulldogs’ streak of eight years making the Sweet 16 is the third longest streak of all-time behind only North Carolina who did it for 13 straight years (1981-93), and Duke who did it for nine years (1998-0).
Gonzaga reaches the Sweet 16 for the 8th consecutive NCAA Tournament.
Only North Carolina and Duke have longer streaks all-time.

Mark Few has established Gonzaga as a threat every March, despite the team not winning a national championship. Gonzaga has had a few chances, losing in the 2017 national championship to UNC and then again in the 2021 national championship to Baylor.
Gonzaga has another chance this year but will have to get through No. 2 UCLA in the Sweet 16 and then either UConn or Arkansas.
