Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Washington Wizards (24-33) host the Golden State Warriors (29-29) Wednesday at the Capital One Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Warriors-Wizards odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

This is the final of a five-game road swing for Golden State, who has won three of the first four (3-1 against the spread) with the latest being a 107-96 victory at the Philadelphia 76ers Monday.

Washington is on a five-game winning streak and has won seven of the last eight games (6-2 ATS), including a 110-107 win on April 9 at the Warriors as 4.5-point road underdogs.

The Wizards have beaten the Warriors in four consecutive meetings and have covered in three of those contests.

Money line (ML)

Golden State’s implied win probability based on the money line is 57.45% and with how well Steph Curry is playing right now, I think this version of the WARRIORS (-135) wins this game enough times to justify the price, which has become a bit cheaper (down from -140).

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve heard of Curry’s offensive eruption in April.

Curry is averaging 40.8 points per game (PPG) on 75.1% true shooting with a plus-17 net rating, 6.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game and has pulled ahead of Wizards’ Bradley Beal for the most PPG in the NBA (31.4 PPG).

This is a max motivation spot for both teams with each vying for playoff contention and needing to stack wins down the stretch and superstars all over the floor.

Also, don’t sleep on the importance of Hachimura’s absence, who was Washington’s leading scorer in the first Warriors-Wizards meeting this season. Hachimura has a really good mid-range pull-up jumper, good size and enough skill to use up a little of Warriors Draymond Green‘s bandwidth.

Without Hachimura out there, Green can focus more of his attention on Beal and Russell Westbrook.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS because I prefer the money line and don’t want to fuss with the points, but if you want to be cheap the Warriors -2 (-110) works as well.

Golden State is 4-2 ATS when laying 1-2.5 points and 6-4 ATS as a road favorite with a plus-5.3-point ATS margin and Washington is 0-3 ATS when getting spotted 1-2.5 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight “LEAN” to the UNDER 238.5 (-105) for a quarter unit because the first Warriors-Wizards meeting this season went Under the total by 23 points and the market hasn’t adjusted enough.

Personally, I have this total in the lower 230s. But, I’ll concede that this game has a good chance of going Over since Curry is on fire, Westbrook is averaging a triple-double since March and Beal is awesome.
