We are all in need of positive stories and coverage in a moment like the one we are currently in. I wanted to highlight the excellent work of a former and current Badger athlete from what has been a wild week in our country. Here is a quick look at what a pair of Badgers, one current football player and one former basketball player, have done over the past few days to help their local communities.
Just a few days ago, former Wisconsin basketball player Marcus Landry, who played at UW from 2005-2009, handed out 100 boxes of food to people struggling in his local community in Wisconsin. Wisconsin basketball showed love on Twitter:

Rising sophomore CB Semar Melvin also made an impact in his community this past week. According to Wisconsin football’s Twitter account, Melvin helped pack and distribute food to children that were in need.
Proud of @SemarMelvin for his work in his community

It’s inspiring to see members of the Wisconsin athletic community having a positive impact on their communities. During a time like this, we all need to recognize and see the positive stories, in addition to the negative ones. [lawrence-newsletter]
