Giles Jackson has been one of the Big Ten’s best receivers through three weeks

Giles Jackson has been an excellent weapon for the Washington Huskies early in 2024.

Under Jedd Fisch, the Washington Huskies have developed a highly efficient passing attack with quarterback Will Rogers at the helm. Through three games, the Huskies rank No. 20 in the nation, throwing for 306.7 yards per contest, while Rogers’ 77.1 completion percentage sits at No. 3 behind Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart.

Even though the Huskies have an exciting trio of pass catchers in Denzel Boston, Jeremiah Hunter, and Giles Jackson, Jackson appears to have emerged as Rogers’ favorite target.

He’s started his season with 24 catches on 24 targets, which broke an NCAA record set by Larry Fitzgerald, according to Fisch, and has turned them into 326 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Jackson sits at No. 2 on the Big Ten receiving yardage leaderboard, behind only Maryland’s Tai Felton, whose 443 yards are the No. 3 mark nationally. He also earned an 84.3 grade from Pro Football Focus, which ranks No. 3 among Big Ten receivers.

The former Michigan transfer has been a threat at all three levels of the field thanks to his route running prowess and exceptional athleticism, and Fisch has been very complimentary of the senior.

“Giles Jackson played fantastic,” Fisch said of his Apple Cup performance. “I thought he was pretty special in the game.”

Now, facing a Northwestern defense that may ask a linebacker to tackle him in space, he could be in for another big day as the Huskies play their first Big Ten conference game.
