Next stop for Gilberto Ramirez: Dmitry Bivol?
Ramirez became the mandatory challenger to Bivol’s WBA light heavyweight title by stopping journeyman Dominic Boesel in the fourth round Saturday in Ontario, California.
The time of the stoppage was 1:33 of the round.
“Everyone knows I want Dmitry Bivol next,” Ramirez said. “Stop running. Stop running, and sign the contract.”
Ramirez, a former super middleweight titleholder, pounded his German opponent from the beginning.
The Mexican finished the job by putting Boesel (32-3, 12 KOs) down and hurting him, after which the fight was quickly waved off.
Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) has now stopped all five of his opponents since becoming a full-fledged 175-pounder.
