Facing criminal charges in an alleged armed robbery in Florida in May, both the New York Giants’ D’Andre Baker and Seattle Seahawks’ Quinton Dunbar were placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List.
Commissioner Roger Goodell put Baker, one of the Giants’ three first-round picks in 2019, on the list pending resolution of the four criminal charges he faces in an alleged armed robbery in the Sunshine State. The same goes for Dunbar, who faces four counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
They will be paid while on the list, but they won’t be able to play or practice until they’ve been removed from the list.
Baker, 22, is facing four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault stemming from a May 13 incident at a house party in Miramar, Fla. No official charges have been made yet by the Broward County prosecutor’s office and Baker’s representation maintains Baker was the victim on an extortion scheme and the case should be dismissed.
