Giannis’ teammates say he has also changed his game, if ever so slightly. He is still a bull rusher, or, he’s still liable to attack the rim and his opponents with vigor and aggression, even if there are multiple people standing in his way. He just picks his spots a little more than before, is seeing more of the court and is perhaps more likely than before to dish to an open teammate if a double-team collapses on him. He’s also shooting more 3s — a whopping 2.1 more per game — which is another sign that he’s more willing to take what the defense gives him rather than forcing the issue. “There’s a few things that are super important to us and he really checks all those boxes,” Budenholzer said. “I just think the teammate he is. I think his teammates love playing with him. There’s incredible drive, but I think there’s humility. He can laugh at himself. He’s just a great, great teammate, player. We’re excited. I think he’s even going to get better as we go forward.”
