Giannis Antetokounmpo is just 26 years old and has won two NBA MVP awards and yet even up through last night you could find people questioning his game and dissing his offensive skills.
We’ve even heard James Harden take some shots at Antetokounmpo for just being tall and and being able to dunk and saying that’s not hard.
Well, now all of that idiotic chatter is over for good because nobody is allowed to talk any trash about Giannis ever again after what he did in the NBA Finals and especially what he did last night in a Game 6 win that gave the Bucks their first title in 50 years.
Because what he did was historic and just downright ridiculous. And the time he spent with his new trophies after the game was so great.
Speaking of the number 50, Giannis put up 50 points in the win and became the first player since blocks started getting recorded in 1973 to have a 50-10-5 playoff game. That’s 50 points, over 10 rebounds (he had 14) and five blocks.
He did it all and he did it all so darn well.
He scored 33 of his points in the second half, joining just Michael Jordan as the two players in history to score over 30 points in a half of a NBA Finals game.
He averaged 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5 assists in the Finals, joining just LeBron James as the only two players to average over 35-10-5 in the Finals.
He became just the 7th player to score 50 points in a Finals game. The last two were, you guessed it, LeBron James (2018) and Michael Jordan (1993).
He also had two 40-point games in the Finals.
So yeah, the dude is now officially a legend.
Giannis could have made things messy in Milwaukee after last season when they lost to the Heat, 4-1, in the second round. But instead he went back to work and won his city a championship.
He’s a legend now in Milwaukee and rightfully so.
And now you also really have to feel like he’s just getting started, which is wild to think about.
But yeah, you can’t say anything bad about him ever again. Because if you do, you’ll look really stupid and be completely wrong.
Giannis forever.
