Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo got into a heated postgame exchange with Greek fan

The Los Angeles Lakers edged out the Bucks on Friday night, 113-103, in what was a matchup between two of the leading MVP candidates: Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James.

Though Giannis put up 32 points and 10 rebounds, the losing effort did not go over well with one fan in the tunnel at Staples Center.

Video hit Twitter over the weekend showing someone yell at Giannis and his brother, Thanasis, in Greek after the game. The fan’s remarks caught the Bucks teammates’ attention, and they ran over to the Greek fan to confront him. It was clear that both Giannis and Thanasis didn’t appreciate what was said.

According to greekcitytimes.com, the translated exchange went something like this:

The fan in the video is heard saying “Giannis you ate it in the (expletive) today.”

“Come back here and say it to my face, say it to my face you little chicken,” Thanasis immediately responded, before ending the brief exchange by saying “Your kids must be happy for you.”

The players then made their way to the locker room with no further incident.

It’s unclear how this fan got to be in the tunnel, and he certainly shouldn’t be allowed back there again. There’s no place in the sport for that kind of behavior.
