We’ve heard plenty of the Miami Dolphins’ 2020 NFL Draft strategy. The team made a firm commitment to the offensive line — investing three early selections into the trenches in order to boost the protection for the team’s new franchise quarterback and provide better push to create movement and boost the run game. But what about the men under the helmets?
Former Louisiana offensive tackle Robert Hunt has an incredible backstory. He’s endured a slew of challenges to get to this point in his life — Hunt’s family battled through poverty, being displaced by Hurricane Rita and even losing their house to a house fire, but his perseverance has allowed him to overcome it all and now have him aligned to change the fortunes of his family now that he’s a top-40 pick in the NFL Draft.
What kind of man is forged in such trying conditions? If Robert Hunt’s ‘QnA’ session with the Dolphins media team is any indication, Hunt’s hardships have molded a keeper for Miami — even if he “isn’t a big fan of pizza”.

Hunt is expected to compete for the starting right tackle position for the Dolphins this season — and if he fails to secure that gig, he’s likely to fall into the right guard slot and still end up becoming a starter during his rookie season. Hunt is one of two Dolphins rookies yet to sign his rookie contract — but Miami is well ahead of the game relative to the rest of the league on that front.
