Get the brooms out as the Aggie Volleyball sweeps Pepperdine at the Omaha Invite

The Aggie Volleyball team move to 2-0 after sweeping Pepperdine in the Omaha invitational

Texas A&M caps off a successful trip to Omaha, Nebraska, with a three-set sweep over Pepperdine. The Aggies wasted no time getting on the board and jumping out to a 25-15 first frame. Then, after a close 25-21 set, they completed the sweep with a 25-15 in the final set, starting the season 2-0.

That was not the only highlight of the weekend. Head Texas A&M volleyball coach Jamie Morrison locked up his first win in his inaugural season with the program with a 3-1 victory in the season opener against Omaha Mavericks.

Morrison gave his thoughts on the sweep and overall performance during the weekend.

“Pepperdine is a really good volleyball team and I’m pleased to get that win. We had another efficient day, hitting .420 percent which is hard to do. I think the things we have been working on the past six months showed today on the court.”

“This invite was a good base to build off. We talk a lot about raising the level of all 14 players in our gym and we saw that this weekend. When we get back, we have two days to address some small corrections, but we’re excited to get back on the road and travel to Bowling Green.”
