Gervonta Davis has been indicted on 14 counts in the aftermath of a hit-and-run crash in downtown Baltimore last November, according to multiple reports.
Davis was indicted Monday in Baltimore Circuit Court on charges that include failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, failure to render reasonable assistance to an injured person and driving on a suspended license.
All 14 charges are misdemeanors, a Baltimore State’s Attorney’s Office spokesperson told the Baltimore Sun.
The accident occurred in the early morning hours of Nov. 5. A Lamborghini Urus SUV allegedly ran a red light on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and struck a Toyota Solara, which a report says was “destroyed.”
The two people in the Lamborghini, which struck a fence and was disabled, allegedly fled the scene on foot. Police later determined that Davis was driving, citing witnesses and surveillance videos.
A woman in the Toyota was injured but apparently not to the level required for Davis to be charged with a felony. Four adults were in the Toyota, all of whom were transported to a nearby hospital. The driver suffered the injuries.
The woman’s attorney, Gil Amaral, told the Sun that she suffered “fairly serious injuries” and has had complications in her recovery.
Davis (24-0, 23 KOs) had knocked out Leo Santa Cruz in the sixth round only a few days before the accident.
The Baltimore native has a court date in April for an unrelated incident. He was arrested in February of last year for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. He also was arrested for another alleged altercation in 2018, for which he was sued. That case is pending.
