Georgia’s Glenn Schumann staying with Bulldogs after NFL interview

UGA Co-DC to remain in Athens…

Georgia co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann will remain with Georgia football after interviewing with the Philadelphia Eagles for their vacant defensive coordinator last week, according to a report from ESPN.

Schumann, who also coaches inside linebackers, will return along side co-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp for the pair’s second season calling the Georgia defense.

The NFL has taken notice of the Bulldogs recent success after back-to-back national titles.

The Baltimore Ravens recently hired former offensive coordinator Todd Monken in the same capacity after three seasons in Athens.

It seems that it will be only a matter of time before Schumann takes the next step. The former Alabama assistant is one of two remaining original assistant coaches who were hired by head coach Kirby Smart when he began his tenure at Georgia in 2016. The other is running backs coach Dell McGee.
