Georgia wins College Football Playoff National Championship and gets the wrong hats

Wait a minute, that’s not right.

The Georgia Bulldogs finally broke a four decade drought to win the national championship on Monday night as stout defense and timely offense led Kirby Smart’s squad to a 33-18 victory over Alabama. The first half involved both teams trading field goals, but the Bulldogs erupted over the final 17 minutes of game time to turn an 18-13 deficit into a 33-18 lead.

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett IV was fantastic, dropping a perfect 40-yard touchdown pass to Adonai Mitchell and found Brock Bowers for a 15-yard strike one possession later. A 79-yard pick six by Kelee Ringo sealed the deal.

As confetti fell and the celebration started, there seemed to be one small problem.

The Georgia players were initially given the Alabama celebration hats:

Don’t worry, the wrong was righted and the correct hats eventually found their way to the Dawgs.
