Texas A&M’s transfer portal success under head coach Mike Elko will need to replicate what the Aggies accomplished last offseason, even more so if 2025 will be the year to make a run to the College Football Playoff.
After the transfer portal officially opened on Monday, Elko and his staff set up several key visits, including those of wide receivers Micah Hudson and Kevin Concepcion. At the same time, the defensive line could also receive some help.
In the secondary, the return senior cornerback Will Lee III is big news for the cornerback unit next season, but after ending the season ranked 83rd in passing yards allowed, more help is needed. Add another name to Texas A&M’s visitors list, as Aggie recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway confirmed that former Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey will visit the Aggies on Friday.
Last offseason, Humphrey nearly transferred to Texas A&M but opted to return to Georgia for a final year. In 2024, the sophomore recorded 11 tackles and four pass deflections, ending the year with a 69 coverage grade, according to Pro Football Focus.
A native of Webster, Texas, Humphrey’s hometown is only two hours away from College Station, as the incoming junior would be an immediate contributor within an experienced cornerback rotation looking to take the next step in 2025.
Georgia transfer cornerback Julian Humphrey is set to visit Texas A&M on December 13th, I’m told.
Humphrey, 6’0 190 cornerback who tallied 10 tackles and 4 PBUs this season for the Dawgs, is a Houston-native.
