The Georgia Bulldogs continue to be ranked as the No. 2 team in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Georgia pulled off a closer than expected 34-20 win over the Florida Gators. Georgia is still receiving one first place vote.
The No. 1 Oregon Ducks are ranked ahead of Georgia. The undefeated Ducks, who won 38-17 at the Michigan Wolverines, received 52 of 53 total first place votes.
Following Georgia is the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes, who earned a 20-13 road win over the previous No. 3 team in the Penn State Nittany Lions. Penn State drops to the No. 7 spot. No. 4 Miami and No. 5 Texas rounds out the top five.
Tennessee is ranked No. 6 and is Georgia’s highest ranked remaining opponent. The Bulldogs hit the road to play the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels, who are coming off a dominant win over Arkansas. The Rebels are the top risers in the Coaches Poll.
Georgia’s Week 1 win over Clemson no longer looks as impressive because Clemson lost to Louisville 33-21 and dropped nine spots to the No. 17 ranking. UGA’s lone loss of the season came to No. 11 Alabama, who had a bye in Week 10.
The first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday.
