Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is entering the 2025 NFL draft. Beck, who is a fifth-year senior, had another year of college football eligibility.
Beck’s departure clarifies Georgia’s future quarterback situation. The Dawgs are expected to return Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi next year. Stockton and Puglisi are Georgia’s top two quarterbacks now that Beck is out for the season after undergoing elbow surgery.
Beck started at quarterback for Georgia from 2023 to 2024. He helped Georgia win the Orange Bowl last season and the SEC championship this year.
Beck completed 64.7% of his passes in 2024 for 3,485 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Beck overcame some interception struggles in SEC play and helped UGA earn the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff. Beck finishes his Georgia career 24-3 as the starter.
Beck finishes with the sixth-most passing yards in Georgia school history with 7,912 yards. Beck also won a pair of national championships as a back up during his time at Georgia.
“The past five years at the University of Georgia have been nothing short of a dream come true and I will forever cherish the memories that have been made,” said Beck in a lengthy statement via Instagram. “Thank you Dawg Nation for the time I’ve been here and to those who’ve supported and believed in me, thank you. It’s been an incredible journey and all these moments have ultimately led me to take the next step in my football career. With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. Go Dawgs!”
