We are just a week away from college football. No. 3 Georgia will start its title defense in Atlanta versus No. 11 Oregon for the Chickfila Kickoff Game on Sept. 3
The Bulldogs finished the 2021 dream season with just one blemish on its record, a 41-24 loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship. The Dawgs were a perfect 12-0 in the regular season and have a good shot at repeating that feat this year.
ESPN released its record predictions for the season and tabbed the Bulldogs to finish the regular season 12-0. The network expects, surprise, No. 1 Alabama to be the Bulldogs biggest threat.
“Toughest test: See: Alabama. There’s simply nobody on Georgia’s schedule who can challenge it like Bama in the SEC championship game, if that’s where the Bulldogs wind up. The most difficult regular-season game will be Nov. 19 at Kentucky, and ESPN’s FPI still gives the Bulldogs an 83.3% chance to win.”
What about the playoffs?
ESPN predicts Georgia to lose to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff. Alabama is predicted to beat the Buckeyes in the championship.
Take these predictions for what they’re worth and get out your ‘Rat Posion’ signs. The reality is no one expected Georgia to dethrone Alabama a year ago, and no one expects that this year.
