Georgia football QB entering transfer portal

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback entering the transfer portal after one season with UGA

Georgia Bulldogs redshirt freshman quarterback Jaden Rashada is entering the NCAA transfer portal for the second time in his college football career, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Rashada did not record any stats for Georgia during the 2024 college football season.

Rashada, a former four-star recruit, is suing Florida Gators coach Billy Napier. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound quarterback began his college career at Arizona State.

Now, Rashada is likely transferring to a third team in his college career. Rashada was expected to compete for a starting or backup role with UGA in  the 2025 season.

However, Rashada had a mountain to climb. He was behind Gunner Stockton, who started in the Sugar Bowl and played fairly well considering the circumstances. In the lead-up to the Sugar Bowl, Rashada was losing key backup reps to true freshman quarterback Ryan Puglisi.

Georgia has reached out to numerous quarterbacks in the class of 2025 and the transfer portal to try to bolster its quarterback depth for the 2025 season. Carson Beck recently announced he plans to enter the 2025 NFL draft, so UGA will have a new starter next season.

Rashada joins Georgia wide receiver Anthony Evans in entering the transfer portal after Georgia’s Sugar Bowl loss to Notre Dame.
