The Georgia Bulldogs are now the No. 2 team in the AP Poll after their unimpressive 13-12 win at the Kentucky Wildcats. Georgia is 3-0 entering its bye week ahead of a Sept. 28 clash against the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide.
Georgia received 23 of 63 first place votes. The Texas Longhorns are the new No. 1 in the AP Poll. Texas, who is 3-0, received 35 of 63 first place votes. Georgia and Texas are scheduled to play each other on Oct. 19. The Ohio State Buckeyes (2-0) received the remaining five first place votes. Ohio State is the No. 3 team in the AP Poll. Alabama (No. 4) and Ole Miss (No. 5) round out the top five.
Georgia remains the top team US LBM Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs have remaining games with four of the top six teams in the country in Alabama, Ole Miss and Tennessee (No. 6).
Overall, the SEC has six of the top seven teams in the AP Poll. The Big Ten has four teams in the top 11.
